On April 4, 2026, the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) celebrated its 28th annual convocation, conferring degrees to 1,432 students across eight programs. The event featured T.V. Narendran, CEO and managing director of Tata Steel, as the chief guest. He praised IIMK's growth and urged graduates to cultivate self-awareness and embrace technology, particularly artificial intelligence, as an enabler in their careers. The ceremony awarded 37 doctoral degrees, including 22 to regular Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM) scholars. IIMK's director, Debashis Chatterjee, reported significant advancements in global rankings, placing IIMK alongside prestigious institutions like Carnegie Mellon and the University of Tokyo. V.P. Nandakumar, acting chairperson of the Board of Governors, emphasized the role of management education in shaping responsible leaders capable of navigating today's complexities.
