The first computerized draw of lots for admissions under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Disadvantaged Groups (DG), and Children with Special Needs (CWSN) categories in New Delhi will take place on April 10, 2023, at 10 am. This draw is part of the admissions process for the 2026-27 academic session. Following the draw, document scrutiny for selected candidates will occur from April 9 to 22, while admissions in allocated schools will run from April 9 to May 20. The Directorate of Education (DoE) has established a standard operating procedure for document verification, which will be conducted by 29 zonal teams under district authority supervision. Candidates are required to upload essential documents, such as proof of date of birth, income certificates, and disability certificates, on the online portal. If discrepancies arise, candidates will receive a deficiency memo and can submit valid documents by May 2. A final verification opportunity will be available from April 23 to 28. The zonal authority will issue a reasoned order post-verification, with an appeal process available before the District Admission Monitoring Committee from May 7 to 12. If needed, additional draws will be held for any vacant seats.
