Power supply was restored to the Yashwin Housing Society in Hinjewadi, Pune district, Maharashtra, on April 7 after a 22-hour outage caused by a fault in a 22 kV high-voltage line. The disruption began on April 6 at 12:48 PM due to issues arising from metro construction work. The line, which supplies electricity to three transformers, serves approximately 572 consumers. Residents reported that around 3,000 individuals were left without power, impacting 700 flats across four wings. Despite multiple complaints, residents felt that the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) did not adequately address their concerns. MSEDCL officials stated that repairs were complicated by layers of concrete poured over the underground cable during construction, necessitating overnight excavation efforts to locate the fault. An alternative 30-metre high-voltage cable was laid to restore power while work on the original line continued.
