The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is navigating a challenging period marked by administrative instability and leadership continuity. During a recent Board of Directors meeting in Dhaka, the BCB confirmed that Mehidy Hasan Miraz will remain as the ODI captain until the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027, while Litton Das will lead the T20I side through to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2028. To support this leadership, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Saif Hassan were appointed as vice-captains for ODIs and T20Is, respectively. The board also enhanced its coaching structure by appointing Mohammad Rafique as a specialist spin-bowling coach for one year.

However, the BCB faces a crisis as three directors—Saniyan Taneem, Mehrab Alam, and Faiazur Rahman—resigned, bringing the total resignations to six, including Yasir Mohammed Faysal Ashique. This wave of departures raises concerns about internal discord within the board. An investigation committee is expected to report by April 9, which will influence the government’s decision on the board's future, with speculation about a possible dissolution.

In parallel, the BCB is working to repair its relationship with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which has been strained following Bangladesh's withdrawal from the T20 World Cup due to security issues. The BCB has proposed renewed engagements and exchange programs to restore normalcy in bilateral cricket relations.
