Premallatha Vijayakant, the treasurer of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) party, has intensified her criticism of Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS), the general secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), by releasing a document of a 2024 election agreement. This agreement allegedly promised DMDK a seat in the Rajya Sabha. During a press conference, Premallatha expressed her disappointment, stating that EPS had 'cheated' her by not honoring the agreement. She emphasized that as a former Chief Minister, EPS should uphold his commitments instead of making disparaging remarks about her party. Premallatha revealed that she was compelled to disclose the agreement due to EPS's comments that she deemed disrespectful towards DMDK. She indicated that EPS had previously assured her that the Rajya Sabha seat would be allocated in 2025, but later denied the existence of such an agreement. She warned that EPS would face repercussions in the upcoming assembly elections due to his actions.
