Arvind Kejriwal (Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Chief Minister of Delhi) is expected to appear before the Delhi High Court on Monday to request the recusal of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma from his case related to the alleged excise policy corruption. The High Court is reviewing appeals filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against a trial court decision that discharged Kejriwal and 22 others, citing insufficient grounds for trial. On February 27, the trial court cleared all accused in connection with the now-repealed liquor policy. Kejriwal's plea for Justice Sharma's recusal is among several applications being considered during the hearing. Earlier, on March 9, the High Court temporarily halted certain trial court observations regarding departmental actions against the investigating officer, pointing out discrepancies in the lower court's findings. Kejriwal and other accused had previously sought reassignment of the case, which was denied, leading them to approach the Supreme Court, where the matter remains unresolved.
