On Thursday night, two armed assailants attempted to rob Mohammad Anjar Alam, who operates a money transfer facility named Sahil Telecom in New Madhopuri, Ludhiana, Punjab, India. One of the attackers entered the shop with a firearm, demanding cash. When Alam resisted, he was shot in the arm, but he managed to hand over the cash. Despite his injury, Alam pursued the assailants with a stick, causing them to drop the stolen money. During the chaos, a nearby shopkeeper named Niku was seriously injured when one of the robbers attacked him with a sharp weapon. Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants fired shots into the air to instill panic as they fled. The incident was recorded on CCTV, and police have since recovered three empty shells and two live cartridges from the scene. An FIR has been filed against unidentified suspects, and police are working to trace and arrest them.
