On Thursday evening, Sukhwinder Singh, also known as Honey, was shot at by unidentified assailants outside a hotel in Phagwara, Punjab. This incident occurred at 7:15 PM while he was with a friend. Sukhwinder is a key witness in a corruption case against four police officers who were arrested last year for allegedly accepting a ₹2.5 lakh (approximately $3,000 USD) bribe to release him without action. Following the shooting, Sukhwinder received threats from a foreign number demanding he provide a statement in favor of the suspended officers. Kapurthala Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Toora confirmed that a case has been registered under the Arms Act and other charges, and authorities are pursuing technical leads to apprehend the attackers. The corruption case dates back to May 23, when an inquiry revealed that the police team had attempted to negotiate a bribe with Sukhwinder's family.
