The Andhra Pradesh government has intensified its crackdown on derogatory social media posts, resulting in over 1,300 arrests since the establishment of the Social Media Monitoring Unit in July 2022. Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta announced that the unit employs advanced tools, including AI-based analysis, sentiment tracking, and digital forensics, to swiftly identify and act against offenders. The police have registered 1,549 cases across 23 districts, with 4,529 instances of unlawful content removed.
