In a significant crackdown, Bihar police raided multiple locations linked to Satish Pandey, a gangster-turned-politician, and his brother Amrendra Kumar, a Janata Dal (United) MLA from Kuchaikot. The operation, which involved over 100 police personnel, was initiated following allegations of land grabbing through forged documents and the patronage of local land mafias. The MP-MLA court in Gopalganj issued arrest warrants against the trio after investigators presented substantial evidence of their involvement in illegal land transactions. The raids included searches at Pandey's ancestral home in Tulsia village and various business establishments across Gopalganj and neighboring districts. While the police successfully arrested four associates linked to the case, both Satish and Amrendra managed to evade capture. The operation is viewed as part of a broader effort to dismantle organized crime in the region, particularly as political tensions rise ahead of the anticipated swearing-in of a new government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
