The School of Eminence in Nawanshahr, Punjab, is embroiled in controversy as parents report being charged Rs 5,000 for Class 11 admissions, despite the official annual fee being only Rs 876. This discrepancy has raised alarms among families, many of whom feel pressured to pay the higher amount to secure their children's admission. Sanjiv Bhalla, a resident of Saroya village, lodged a formal complaint with Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, detailing his experience when he was asked to pay the inflated fee for his daughter’s admission. Bhalla's complaint highlights a broader issue affecting multiple families and calls for accountability and a thorough investigation into the school's practices. Despite previous warnings about overcharging in the state Assembly, no concrete action has been taken.
