Members of the Ernakulam Regional Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union (ERCMPU) in Kerala have formally requested an increase in milk prices, citing rising production costs. On Saturday, they submitted a letter to the chairman and managing director of Milma, along with staging a sit-in protest at the Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation office. The ERCMPU, represented by chairman C.N. Valsalan Pillai and members T.N. Sathyan, Tara Unnikrishnan, and K. K. Johnson, highlighted that a memorandum was previously submitted in August 2025, which led to the formation of a three-member committee. This committee recommended a price increase of up to ₹6 per litre. However, the implementation of this recommendation has faced delays, prompting the union to take further action.
