The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Ajit Kumar Panda for the role of Chairman and Managing Director of the Container Corporation of India (CONCOR). Currently, he is the Director (Project and Services) at CONCOR, with a notable career in railway engineering. Panda, an officer from the 1990 batch of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), has previously held significant positions including Executive Director at Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) and Director at the Railway Board. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, and a Master of Technology in Thermal Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Panda has been instrumental in advancing railway projects, notably in the transition to High Horse Power Locomotives and LHB type coaches, and has received the Railway Minister’s National Award for Outstanding Service twice for his contributions.
