The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is expanding its CCTV surveillance program with a new tender for an external auditor to oversee Phase II, which involves the installation of 2,758 cameras across 258 locations in Gurugram, Haryana, India. This phase will enhance surveillance at major traffic intersections, accident-prone areas, and city entry and exit points. The project aims to integrate the existing Phase I network, which includes 1,200 cameras installed at 218 junctions, with the new installations by April 2027. By December 2026, a total of 3,922 cameras will be connected through a 730km optical fibre cable network, monitored via the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC). Currently, 30% of the fibre-laying work is completed, and civil works are ongoing at 50 locations. The new installations will include high-resolution (4K) cameras and various traffic violation detection systems at critical points, including Pataudi Chowk and Bilaspur Chowk.
