The nine-meter-long bus, manufactured by Olectra Greentech, had just completed its route from Nardas Nagar when it rolled backward, startling onlookers. The driver, Sharad Suryavanshi, had parked the bus to take a scheduled break, but moments after exiting, the vehicle began to drift backward and crashed into a roadside booth. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. BEST officials are investigating the cause of the incident, considering both mechanical failure and human error as possible factors. Nitin Nandgaongar, a member of the BEST Committee, expressed concerns over safety protocols, questioning whether the handbrake was applied and highlighting lapses in inspection procedures, especially since this is not the first incident involving this bus model.
