Passengers at Pune railway station can now enjoy modern sleeping pods and an air-conditioned executive lounge, enhancing their travel experience. Opened on March 23, the facility offers 26 sleeping pods available at competitive rates: ₹300 for 3 hours, ₹400 for 6 hours, and up to ₹1,200 for 24 hours. This initiative, developed under the non-fare revenue (NFR) model, allows private operators to lease space and provide services. The lounge includes amenities such as Wi-Fi, mobile charging points, and a baby feeding room, addressing the needs of travelers facing long waiting times or delays. Varsha Jadhav, a frequent traveler, emphasized the convenience of having a clean and private space, especially for parents with young children. In addition to the sleeping pods, the station continues to offer dormitory and retiring room services managed by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
