On February 1, 2026, a shooting incident occurred at 'Shetty Tower' in Juhu, Mumbai, targeting filmmaker Rohit Shetty. The attack was allegedly orchestrated by the Shubham Lonkar gang, aiming to extort money and instill fear within the film industry. On Thursday, Pradeep Kumar, also known as Gaath, was arrested by a joint team of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force and the Mumbai Police Crime Branch in Agra. The operation, conducted under the supervision of Rakesh, Additional Superintendent of Police, involved technical analysis and intelligence sharing between the two police forces. Kumar, a resident of Ashok Nagar in Agra, confessed to participating in the shooting alongside associates to establish dominance in the underworld. He was subsequently handed over to the Mumbai Police for further legal proceedings. This arrest adds to the list of eight previous arrests related to the case.
