Late on Friday night, an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft crash-landed at Pune airport, resulting in significant disruptions to flight services from Chennai airport. An Air India Express flight that took off from Chennai at 10:05 PM with 162 passengers was diverted to Mumbai airport due to the runway closure. Another IndiGo flight, which departed Chennai at 10:30 PM carrying 148 passengers, had to return to Chennai. The disruption continued into Saturday, with multiple early-morning flights from Chennai to Pune canceled, including IndiGo flights at 1:10 AM, 3:10 AM, and 4:50 AM, as well as a SpiceJet service scheduled for 5:20 AM. In total, around 11 flights on the Chennai-Pune sector were affected, leading to chaos among passengers.
