Helicopter services in the Kedarnath valley, located in Uttarakhand, India, are scheduled to commence on April 22. The Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) has granted permission to eight helicopter companies to operate this season. In a bid to enhance safety, shuttle services will be limited, allowing only a fixed number of flights to prevent overcrowding in the airspace. Control rooms at Sonprayag and Kedarnath will facilitate smooth air traffic management, staffed by Air Traffic Control (ATC) officials who will provide real-time updates and weather information to pilots.
