On Friday night, a Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jet of the Indian Air Force (IAF) made a hard landing at Pune Airport, damaging the runway and causing significant disruptions to flight operations. The IAF has launched a court of inquiry to investigate the incident, focusing on key flight parameters such as vertical speed during touchdown. According to Defence PRO Ankush Chavan, normal operations were restored by Saturday morning after the IAF team worked diligently to clear the runway. The aircraft reportedly faced a technical issue with its undercarriage during landing, which led to the runway being blocked. A NOTAM was issued for temporary closure, affecting at least 12 incoming flights and resulting in the cancellation of 73 flights. Authorities have confirmed that the runway was declared fit for use after thorough inspection and restoration efforts.
