In the early hours of April 15, a tragic fire engulfed a cluster of shanties in Budh Vihar, northwest Delhi, leading to the deaths of Mosibur Dastagir (23), his wife Monara Sekh (19), and their two-year-old daughter. The fire broke out around 12:45 am, with witnesses reporting that it spread rapidly due to the highly combustible materials, including tarpaulin and scrap items. Although five residents managed to escape, the couple and their child were trapped inside. Neighbors recounted how the family was hindered by a locked door and a collapsing roof. Visuals from the scene showed extensive damage, with charred remains and household items scattered across the site. While locals expressed suspicions about the fire being set intentionally due to past disputes, police have stated that the cause remains under investigation. A case has been registered at the Budh Vihar police station as inquiries continue.
