Jolie S. Koop, a 21-year-old woman from Kansas City, North, has been charged with first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon following a shooting incident involving her ex-boyfriend. The shooting occurred in Northland, Kansas City, after Koop and her mother allegedly orchestrated a setup to confront the couple. According to court documents, the couple had just left the Clay County Courthouse after seeking an order of protection against Koop when they received a call about the towing of their car. As they drove to a relative's house, they noticed Koop following them. The situation escalated when Koop's mother smashed the rear window of the victim's car with a bat. When the boyfriend approached, armed with a knife, Koop allegedly shot him in the chest. Surveillance footage from nearby establishments supports the victims' account of the events. Koop was arrested shortly after the shooting and is being held on a $150,000 bond due to concerns over public safety and flight risk.
