India's pharmaceutical sector is entering a new phase of growth, necessitating significant investments and a focus on innovation. The 'India Pharma 2026' event, organized by the Department of Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA) in New Delhi, attracted over 800 delegates and featured 60 speakers across 10 sessions. Key discussions centered on three main enablers for growth: funding, infrastructure, and speed. Satyaprakash TL, Joint Secretary of the Department of Pharmaceuticals, stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among government, industry, and academia to enhance India's competitive position in the global pharmaceutical landscape. Experts also highlighted the need for diverse financing options, including venture capital and public-private partnerships, to support innovation in the sector. The event concluded with a call for a strategic roadmap to facilitate bold transformations in pharmaceutical development.
