The pandemic underscored the importance of coordinated efforts in health policy, leading to the establishment of the WHO Pandemic Agreement in May 2025, which aims to enhance global preparedness for future pandemics. This agreement focuses on equitable access to vaccines and rapid data sharing. In India, the government has initiated the National One Health Mission to integrate various health sectors and improve pandemic readiness. Various state-led initiatives, such as Odisha's Climate Budget and Kerala's carbon-neutral plan, showcase effective models for integrating climate resilience into health strategies. The ongoing One Health Summit in Lyon aims to address the factors contributing to infectious diseases and promote international cooperation. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has emphasized that adopting a One Health approach is crucial for public health, economic stability, and global cooperation.
