Union Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia announced that India is on track to become a global logistics powerhouse by 2030. He highlighted that India Post will play a central role in this transformation, with projected revenue growth of 18-20% in the fiscal year 2027, rising from nearly ₹13,000 crore in FY26. At an event celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Postal Training Centre in Saharanpur, Scindia emphasized the importance of service innovations like '24 Speed Post' and '48 Speed Post'. He also noted that India Post, employing 4.8 lakh individuals, is enhancing its focus on service quality through Six Sigma principles and improved customer service. Additionally, an agreement was signed to onboard the Goa government and Cochin Port Authority onto the SAMPANN digital platform, which manages pensions for telecom pensioners and facilitates ₹1,650 crore in monthly deposits. Since its launch in 2018, SAMPANN has handled 55 lakh transactions annually and has accumulated ₹72,000 crore in deposits.
