The National Testing Agency (NTA) has reviewed and corrected the provisional answer keys for the chemistry section of Paper 1 of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 following complaints from candidates and educators. Errors in 19 chemistry questions from the April 5 examination were identified due to a technical glitch that caused mismatches between question IDs and correct option IDs. The NTA expressed regret for the inconvenience and confirmed that the updated answer keys are now available for candidates to challenge until April 13 at a fee of ₹200 (approximately $2.40 USD) per question. If any challenges are found valid, the answer keys will be revised accordingly. The final answer keys will be binding and are expected to be released after all challenges are evaluated. Results for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 are anticipated by April 20. The examination took place from April 2 to 8, with around 11.06 lakh (1.1 million) candidates participating across 567 centres in 306 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.
