The Kullu district administration has taken significant steps to ensure the safety of tourists engaged in river rafting. Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Anurag Chandra Sharma, a zero-tolerance policy against substance abuse for rafting pilots and operators has been established. Additionally, a single-window counter system will process all rafting bookings to eliminate overbooking and overcharging. The regulatory committee meeting emphasized the importance of adhering to safety standards and maintaining transparency in operations. Operators are now required to keep proper records of activities and submit daily reports. The deputy commissioner also highlighted the need for immediate notification to the district tourism development officer in the event of any accidents. To combat illegal activities, strict actions will be enforced against unregistered adventure operators. Furthermore, the Larji Water Sports Society has been tasked with preparing a proposal to expand water sports activities at the 126 MW Larji Hydroelectric Project, which has been pending for some time.
