Hoppin, who suffers from multiple sclerosis and Crohn's disease, drives five days a week, completing six to eight rides daily across Arizona and into California. His wife is battling lung cancer and recently underwent costly radiation treatments, with some sessions totaling $50,000. Although insurance has covered part of the expenses, the couple still faces significant financial strain. Their situation has drawn attention from the community, leading to an online fundraiser initiated by neighbor Michael Long, which has raised nearly $28,000 from over 400 donors. Hoppin expresses gratitude for the support and finds purpose in driving, stating that staying active is essential for his well-being. He hopes to continue working for another five years, as long as his health allows.
