The accident, which took place on the Ambala–Narnaul Expressway, resulted in the deaths of three family members: Manoj Kumar, his wife Urmila Mehta, and their daughter Chetna. The family was traveling to Khatu Shyam in Rajasthan when their vehicle collided with a stationary tip-trailer parked illegally on the highway. The tribunal found the driver, owner, and insurance company jointly liable for the compensation, which is broken down as follows: ₹71.92 lakh for Chetna, ₹56.85 lakh for Urmila Mehta, and ₹50.28 lakh for Manoj Kumar, with interest accruing at 7.5% per annum from the date of filing.
