During the 'Scientific Caste Census Day' event organized by the OBC wing of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), Congress leaders emphasized the need for the Indian central government to adopt the Telangana model for a scientific caste census. This initiative aims to ensure that backward classes receive resources proportionate to their population. Anil Jaihind, chairman of the AICC's OBC wing, highlighted the party's commitment to combating casteist attitudes that marginalize women. Telangana's Minister for Transport and Backward Classes Welfare, Ponnam Prabhakar Goud, echoed this sentiment, advocating for the adoption of the Telangana model. Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who was the chief guest, called for grassroots programs to promote the OBC caste census and ensure OBC women's representation in Lok Sabha seats. Other prominent Congress leaders present included Ajay Kumar Lallu, Avinash Pande, and Rajendra Pal Gautam, all reinforcing the party's vision for social justice.
