A 22-year-old student from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in his hostel room, prompting police to suspect suicide. The student, a third-year B Tech civil engineering major from Sherpura village in Sirsa district, Haryana, India, had reached out to a friend shortly before his death, inviting him to visit later that night. When the friend arrived, he found the door locked and alerted others, leading to the grim discovery. This incident is particularly concerning as it marks the third unnatural death at the institute in just three months, with the previous two incidents occurring in the same hostel. Investigations are ongoing, and no suicide note has been recovered. The deceased's body was handed over to his parents after a post-mortem examination was conducted.
