Nandana, a 15-year-old girl from Palakkad district in Kerala, has been reported missing near Manikyadhara Falls in Chikkamagaluru district. She was last seen around 5:30 PM on Tuesday while taking photographs with her family. When her family noticed her absence, they filed a complaint with the police at approximately 8 PM. A comprehensive search operation commenced, involving police, forest department personnel, and local residents. Despite challenging conditions, including dense fog and difficult terrain, efforts continued through the night using thermal drones. District superintendent of police Jithendra Kumar Dayama stated that all possible efforts are being made to locate Nandana. The search teams are divided into smaller groups to cover specific routes based on her estimated path. The incident follows a similar case in Kodagu, where a woman from Kerala went missing during a trek but was later found alive. Authorities are now tightening oversight of trekking activities in light of these incidents.
