The Delhi Panchayat Sangh has urged both the central and Delhi governments to grant full ownership rights to villages in New Delhi, advocating for a policy similar to the regularisation of 1,511 unauthorized colonies. The Sangh's chief, Than Singh Yadav, emphasized the need for ownership rights under the principle of 'Gaon jaise hai, Gaon jahan tak hai'. Memorandums have been sent to key officials, including Union Urban Development Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Yadav indicated that a positive government response would significantly benefit rural development and restore dignity to residents. The Sangh's demands also include the removal of building by-laws, development of parks, and enhancement of compensation for farmers' land. A panchayat meeting is planned to further discuss these issues with local representatives.
