On Thursday, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) dismissed a false notice regarding the semester exam system and filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the individuals responsible for its circulation. The misleading notification, which appeared on social media, claimed that the proposed semester system for the 2027 higher secondary examination would be withdrawn, allowing students to continue with the existing annual examination pattern. WBCHSE clarified that this notice was not issued by them and emphasized that the semester system will proceed as planned. In response to the misinformation, the council has urged students, guardians, and schools to rely solely on official updates. Additionally, WBCHSE plans to introduce new project-based subjects to enhance student engagement and align education with emerging career fields. Subjects such as Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Applied Artificial Intelligence, and Cyber Security will be included under Council Assisted Courses (CAC). The council president, Chiranjib Bhattacharyya, confirmed that online classes will also be conducted beyond regular school hours.
