Kinet Railway Solutions, an Indo-Russian joint venture formed by Russian rolling stock major TMH and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), has successfully completed the first fully integrated car body for the Vande Bharat Sleeper train at its facility in Latur, Maharashtra, India. This project involves the manufacturing and maintenance of 120 sleeper trains (1,920 coaches) for Indian Railways. RVNL Chairman and Managing Director Saleem Ahmad expressed optimism about the project's progress, stating that the first prototype is on track to be unveiled by June 2026. The Ministry of Railways has awarded the contract for these sleeper trains to three companies, including Kinet Railway Solutions, BEML, and a consortium of Titagarh Rail Systems Limited and Bharat Heavy Engineering Limited (BHEL). The Vande Bharat Sleeper train aims to enhance long-distance travel comfort for passengers in India.
