Following a tragic explosion at an illegal firecracker manufacturing unit in Jodhan village, Ludhiana district, Punjab, police have arrested Krishan, the potash supplier, and Mahinder Kaur, the landlord of the premises. The explosion resulted in the death of a 19-year-old man and injuries to a minor girl. Authorities revealed that Krishan, a resident of Dirba in Sangrur, had supplied potash to the main accused brothers, Said and Wajid, who were operating the illegal unit. The Ludhiana Rural Police, in collaboration with the army, disposed of hazardous materials, including potash and chemicals, recovered from the site. Ludhiana Rural Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ankur Gupta stated that Krishan is already facing trial for a similar incident involving possession of potash. In response to this incident, a special drive will be launched across the district to target illegal firecracker manufacturing operations.
