The Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, has been awarded the ISO 15189:2022 accreditation for its clinical laboratory specializing in biochemistry and haematology. This achievement makes CARI the first institute under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences to receive such recognition, as stated by the Union Ministry of Ayush. The accreditation signifies that the laboratory meets international standards for reliable and precise diagnostic services, which are crucial for effective treatment and improved health outcomes. Union Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav emphasized that this accreditation reflects the ministry's commitment to enhancing the quality of Ayush infrastructure. CARI's laboratory has shown remarkable growth, with over 1.55 lakh investigations conducted in 2026, serving more than 9,300 patients. The increase in outpatient visits from 18,918 in 2021 to over 51,300 in 2026 indicates a growing public trust in its services. The laboratory also offers a variety of diagnostic tests, including blood glucose and liver function tests, and has expanded its capabilities significantly since introducing inpatient services in July 2024.
