The Alappuzha District Police Chief, MP Mohanachandran, has submitted a report to State Police Chief Ravada A Chandrasekhar, denying any lapses in the investigation of a sexual harassment case involving a woman injured in an accident in Kayamkulam, Kerala. The incident occurred on April 4 when the victim was traveling with a family friend and was allegedly sexually harassed by Sinil Sabad, a local trader, during her transport to the hospital. The victim expressed concerns that her confidential statement had not been recorded and that a medical examination had not been conducted even after more than a week post-incident. The police have stated that witness statements have been recorded, and they are currently awaiting court approval to record the victim's confidential statement. Following this, Sabad will be interrogated again, and further actions will be determined based on the evidence gathered during the investigation. Sabad was released on bail as the charges against him carry a punishment of less than seven years.
