Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has mandated the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) to reissue a tender for the construction of a 100 MLD sewage treatment plant (STP) in Dhanwapur, following a six-year delay since its approval in 2020. The original tender for the ₹166 crore (approximately $20 million USD) project was canceled due to excessively high bids from three bidders. Under the new framework, the contracting company will receive 51% of the payment upon completion of the STP, with the remaining 49% disbursed after a 10-year maintenance period. The chief minister expressed concern over the delays and ordered an inquiry to assign responsibility. Additionally, the meeting approved a 665 MLD main pumping station at Dhanwapur for ₹101 crore (approximately $12 million USD) and a proposal for a consultant for a new drain from Gurugram to Palwal.
