On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a significant roadshow in Puducherry, aimed at rallying support for the All India N R Congress (AINRC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance ahead of the assembly elections scheduled for April 9. The roadshow, which covered a distance of less than 2 kilometers, lasted nearly an hour, showcasing Modi's popularity as he was greeted with chants of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Jai Shri Ram' from enthusiastic supporters. The event featured vibrant cultural shows and traditional dance performances, enhancing the festive atmosphere. Modi's campaign vehicle was adorned with flowers as he waved to the crowd, which had gathered in large numbers, reflecting the ruling parties' confidence in their electoral prospects. Previously, during his visit last month, Modi inaugurated projects worth over ₹2,700 crore (approximately $325 million USD), further solidifying his connection with the region. The AINRC is contesting 16 seats, while the BJP is vying for 10 seats in the upcoming elections.
