In a commanding performance, the Tennessee Volunteers baseball team defeated the UNC Asheville Bulldogs 11-1 in eight innings at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The victory improved Tennessee's record to 25-12 overall and 7-8 in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Vols took an early lead in the third inning with Garrett Wright hitting an RBI double, followed by a single from Reese Chapman that brought Wright home. Tennessee extended their lead with two runs in the sixth inning, courtesy of Manny Marin's two-run double. Although UNC Asheville managed to score in the seventh inning, Tennessee responded with a powerful five-run seventh, highlighted by Marin's grand slam. Marin finished the game with an impressive six RBIs, while Wright recorded two doubles and scored two runs. The game concluded with two more runs for Tennessee in the eighth, ending the match due to the run rule. Taylor Tracey earned his first win for the Vols, pitching two innings and allowing only one walk.
