In response to allegations of a collaboration between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) for the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections, BJP State president Rajeev Chandrasekhar asserted that the true alliance lies between the Congress and CPI(M). He highlighted that both parties are working together in 27 states and 8 Union Territories, including Puducherry, which is also preparing for elections. Chandrasekhar criticized Congress for failing to challenge the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government over various issues during the past decade, including the Sabarimala gold theft and crises in education and health sectors. He also alleged that Congress has formed an alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), which has reportedly demanded significant political positions if the United Democratic Front (UDF) comes to power. Additionally, M.T. Ramesh, BJP State general secretary, accused the CPI(M), Congress, and the Muslim League of forming an 'unholy axis' to undermine the BJP's influence in the state. Chandrasekhar urged communities to disregard Congress's claims regarding the proposed amendments to the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, which he argued were intended to instill fear among Christians.
