This grant completes a previous $500,000 pledge from former Supervisor Scott Haggerty. The planned center aims to provide interactive science experiences for families and is expected to accommodate around 100,000 visitors annually. The vision for the center includes an 18,000-square-foot building featuring various exhibits such as a walk-on map of the Tri-Valley and a wet-lab for experiments. The initiative, which began in 2017, reflects a commitment to enhancing science education and community engagement in the region. Quest Science Center currently operates a mobile science education program, reaching approximately 20,000 individuals each year, and is known for hosting events like the Tri-Valley Innovation Fair.
