On Wednesday, the bodies of three family members were recovered in Dhanbad district, Jharkhand, after their house collapsed due to suspected land subsidence. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Tandabadi Basti, where two houses caved in. The deceased include a 70-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman, and a 17-year-old girl. While local MLA Shatrughan Mahto claimed illegal mining contributed to the collapse, Dhanbad Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar attributed it to heavy rain. Dhanbad deputy development commissioner Sunny Raj has directed officials to provide basic amenities and monitor relief efforts for affected families.
