Scheduled for April 23, the bypolls will not be unopposed, as the opposition coalition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) faces internal challenges. The NCP has ramped up its preparations, with two significant meetings already held in Baramati, a stronghold of the Pawar family. Sunetra Pawar's son, Jay Pawar, will play a more prominent role in the campaign, indicating a shift in family dynamics. The election is expected to test the unity of the MVA, especially as rival factions within the alliance may field candidates against each other. The Maharashtra Congress has signaled its intent to enter the race if NCP SP does not contest, highlighting the competitive nature of the upcoming polls. Senior leaders, including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, are expected to support Sunetra Pawar during her nomination filing.
