Delhi University (DU) is preparing to launch its undergraduate admissions for the 2026 academic year, likely starting in the third week of May. This timeline follows the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG), which is scheduled to take place from May 11 to May 31, 2026. DU will continue using the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for admissions, a method established after the University Grants Commission mandated that all central universities conduct admissions through CUET UG starting in 2022. According to Haneet Gandhi, DU's dean of admission, the registration process is expected to open around the same time as the CUET exams, ensuring that the academic year begins without delays. Efforts are being made to enhance the CSAS portal's user-friendliness, including adding prompts to assist students during the application process. Additionally, students are advised to select CUET subjects that align closely with their Class 12 subjects, as this is essential for subject mapping in the admission process.
