Pittsburgh Public Schools has finalized its calendar for the 2026-27 academic year, with the first day of school set for August 24, 2026, for most students. Kindergarteners will start a few days later on August 27. The school year will include a spring break from March 22-26, 2027, with classes resuming on March 29. Students will enjoy a winter break from December 24, 2026, to January 4, 2027. The academic year will conclude on June 8, 2027, while teachers will have their last day on June 10. In addition to breaks, students will have several holidays throughout the year, including Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, amounting to 12 days off beyond the scheduled breaks. Furthermore, students will have eight half days scattered throughout the year for various activities.
