Sampat Singh, the former finance minister of Haryana and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) patron, has accused the BJP-led Haryana government of severe financial mismanagement regarding the 2025-26 budget. During a press conference, he pointed out that despite Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's claims of 98% budget utilization, data revealed that 300 out of 729 announced schemes had zero expenditure, totaling ₹7,500 crore. Singh highlighted that crucial allocations, such as ₹406.12 crore for agricultural infrastructure and ₹890 crore for rural development, went unspent. He noted that only 18% of the total departmental expenditure was utilized, with significant funds allocated for education, healthcare, and housing remaining unutilized. Singh expressed his intention to lodge formal complaints with the Principal Accountant General and other authorities, asserting that the BJP government is merely engaging in event management rather than addressing the pressing needs of the state.
