A tragic incident occurred in Bhamian, Ludhiana, where a 31-year-old businessman took his own life, allegedly due to harassment stemming from a monetary dispute with Surinder Pal Dhillon, a resident of Tarn Taran, Punjab, India. Family members discovered him hanging from a ceiling fan after failing to get a response from his room. A two-page suicide note revealed that Dhillon was named as the source of harassment. The deceased, who previously worked as an immigration agent and ran a car wash business, had limited details about the monetary issues troubling him. The family has accused Dhillon and other unidentified individuals, including a senior officer from the cyber crime cell of the Ludhiana police, of harassment. They have refused to conduct the last rites until the accused are arrested. The Jamalpur police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 108 (abetment to suicide) and Section 3(5) (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code against Dhillon and his aides. The police are also investigating the alleged involvement of police personnel as claimed by the victim's family.
