Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched a strong critique against previous governments, particularly targeting the Shiromani Akali Dal and Congress for their alleged roles in corruption and nepotism. Speaking at an event in Jaito, Mann unveiled ₹28.68 crore worth of projects, including plans to upgrade a community health centre into a 30-bed hospital. He emphasized the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) welfare initiatives, such as a ₹10 lakh medical insurance scheme and free electricity for 90% of households. Mann also noted the creation of over 65,000 jobs without corruption and improvements in infrastructure, including road enhancements and the closure of toll plazas, saving ₹70 lakh daily. Additionally, Mann announced the flagging off of 100 buses from the PEPSU Road Transport Corporation on April 6, as part of a broader investment plan of approximately ₹125 crore for public transport expansion, which includes adding 606 buses to the PUNBUS fleet.
